Assassination of Julius Caesar

The information following this paragraph is quoted from"Everything of Jesus' Story can be found in Caesar's Biography", and is drawn from Francesco Carotta’s book, Jesus was Caesar, which has 51216 PAGES OF 15 YEARS OF RESEARCH ABOUT SIMILARITIES BETWEEN JESUS CHRIST AND JULIUS CAESAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were many books written around the time of Julius Caesar about Julius Caesar from which Carotta drew his research, such as the life of Julius Caesar in Plutarch’s Lives.  I intersperse the similarities drawn from Carotta’s book with similarities drawn from the following website: http://www. users.bigpond.com/pontificate/ 4.htm#1, which particularly discusses the similarites of Caesar’s and Christ’s final week.  For most of the similarities from the latter website, I have mentioned the classical texts which the author of this website cites.  Carotta and the authors of the articles on both websites conclude that the Gospel accounts were based on the events of Julius Caesar’s life, although they should have concluded instead that God directed the events of Julius Caesar’s life so as to corroborate every detail of the Gospel accounts, as He did with the events of Socrates’s life and the lives of tens of people in the Old Testament!!!!  I quote only some of the most remarkable similarities, which truly show that Jesus Christ resembles Julius Caesar far more than any other person who ever lived.

The Italian-German linguist and philosopher Francesco Carotta proves in
his book Jesus was Caesar that the story of Jesus Christ has its origin in
Roman sources. In more than fifteen years of investigation Carotta has found
the traces which lead to the Julian origin of Christianity. He concludes thatthe story of Jesus is based on the narrative of the life of Julius Caesar...
Carotta's new evidence leads to such an overwhelming amount ofsimilarities between the biography of Caesar and the story of Jesus that coincidence can be ruled out.

- Both Caesar and Jesus start their rising careers in neighboring states
in the north: Gallia [Latin for “Gaul”] and Galilee.
- Both have to cross a fateful river: the Rubicon and the Jordan. Once
across the rivers, they both come across a patron/rival: Pompeius and Johnthe Baptist, and their first followers: Antonius and Curio on the one hand and Peter and Andrew on the other.
- Both are continually on the move, finally arriving at the capital, Rome
and Jerusalem, where they at first triumph, yet subsequently undergo their
passion.
- Both have good relationships with women and have a special relationship
with one particular woman, Caesar with Cleopatra and Jesus with Magdalene.

- Both have encounters at night, Caesar with Nicomedes of Bithynia, Jesus
with Nicodemus of Bethany. [The encounter with Nicodemus in John 3 is no fiction!!!]
- Both have an affinity to ordinary people-and both run afoul of the
highest authorities: Caesar with the Senate, Jesus with the Sanhedrin.

-During and after the civil war against Pompey, Caesar became famous for his policy of pardoning almost all his enemies, excepting some that he had pardoned previously. Suetonius e.g. praises Caesar's "wonderful restraint and clemency" (Life of Julius Caesar, 75); Velleius Paterculus describes his pardoning of his enemies as defying human credence (Historia Romana , II, 56) [Truly did Jesus say “love your enemies,” a statement he is especially famous for! (Matt. 5:44) Nietzsche says about this moral in Beyond Good and Evil that it is “inhuman to bless when cursed,” just as people like Paterculus couldn’t believe Caesar pardoned his enemies! Remember that what is impossible for man in his natural condition is possible with the help of the Holy Spirit, which fills Christians with Christ’s love!]
-Not long before his murder, and in accordance with what Dio describes as a "remarkable" privilege recently granted him (Dio XLIV, 4,3-4; 10,1), Caesar rode into Rome on horseback when returning from the Latin Festival which was held at the Alban Mount. As he entered the Capitol, some members of the crowd hailed him as King. [When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on an ass, “all the multitude of the disciples” said “with a loud voice” “Blessed be the KING coming in the name of the Lord.” (Luke 19:28-38)  The Gospel writers did not lie when they quoted this fact as a fulfillment of the prophecy given hundreds of years before Jesus came about the Messiah in Zechariah 9:9: “Raise a shout, Fair Jerusalem!  Lo, your king is coming to you.  He is victorious, triumphant, yet humble, riding on an ass, on a donkey foaled by a she-ass”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

-It is widely reported that Caesar attended a supper with friends on the eve of his murder, at which the wine beaker was passed around and the subject of conversation turned to death (see e.g. App II:115). [Truly did Jesus have the Last Supper, at which wine was passed and Jesus’s imminent death was discussed, on the eve before his death!!!!!! (Matt. 26)]

-Antony was Caesar's religious deputy, as the Senate had only recently appointed him as personal priest to Caesar...This is pithily confirmed by Cicero - "As Jupiter, As Mars, as Quirinus have their priests, so is Mark Antony priest of the god Julius." (II Phil.,110)...But, rightly or wrongly, Antony deserted Caesar in his moment of need. He had been detained outside Pompey's theatre by the conspirator Trebonius, and Plutarch reports that he fled immediately upon hearing the uproar in the Theatre when the attack on Caesar began. He disguised himself as a slave, and hid well into the night, making contact with the assassins early in the morning before dawn (Life of Antony , Plut 14; Dio XLIV, 22; App II, 126). [Truly did Peter, Jesus’s closest disciple other than John, abandon him and hide “well into the night”! (Matt. 26:69-74)]

-Immediately prior to his assassination, Caesar was mocked in his royal purple robe whilst wearing his crown of laurel...The conspirator Metellus Cimber reportedly had pulled Caesar's regal purple robe down from his shoulder as the signal for the others to attack him. To Caesar's supporters, this would have appeared as a great indignity. In other words, the conspirators were paying mock homage to Caesar, just as the soldiers do with Jesus (e.g. Mark 15:17-18). [Truly was Jesus dressed in a royal robe, crowned, and mocked right before His crucifixion]

-Both have a traitor: Brutus and Judas. And an assassin who at first gets away: the other Brutus and Barabbas. And one who washes his hands of it: Lepidus and Pilate.
- Both get killed: Caesar is stabbed with daggers, Jesus is crucified, but with a stab wound in his side. [John 19: Truly was Jesus’ side pierced by a spear]

-The deaths of both Caesar and Christ disturb the natural order, dimming the sun. The gospels have the sun being darkened for three hours (e.g. Mk 15:33)...The supernatural dimness of the sun after Caesar's murder is one of the most widely attested phenomena of that period of antiquity:

Pliny the Elder – “ Portentous and protracted eclipses of the sun occur, such as the one after the murder of Caesar the dictator and during the Antonine war which caused almost a whole years continuous gloom” (Bk II, 30)

Plutarch – “The brightness of the Sun was darkened, which all through the year rose very pale and shined not out, whereby it gave but little heat. Wherefore the air was rather cloudy and dark by reason of the heat that could not come forth, causing the earth to bring forth but raw and unripe fruit, which rotted before it could ripen.” (Life of Julius Caesar, 69)

Manilius – “Even the god Caesar fell victim to deceit unspeakable, whereat in horror of the world Phoebus [Apollo, the SUN GOD] brought darkness and forsook the earth.” (Bk II, 595)

Virgil – “The sun, too, pitied Rome when Caesar died, and hid its shining face in dim dusty red, and that impious generation feared eternal night." (Georgic 1, v 466)

-Both hang on a cross. [Caesar’s “crucifixion” is described in Suetonius (Jul. 84.1), Appianus (BC 2.146-147), apparently after he is murdered]  

-Both die on the same respective dates of the year: Caesar on the Ides
(15 th) of March, Jesus on the 15 th of Nisan. [Truly did Jesus die on this day, the Day of Passover, to signify that the Passover Lamb of Exodus 12 was indeed a type of the Antichrist.]
-Both are deified [i.e. considered to be gods!] posthumously: as Divus Iulius and as Jesus Christ. He was the first man in Rome to become a God.  TRULY WAS JESUS GOD INCARNATE!!!!!!!!!

Julius Caesar and Jesus Christ even have the same initials!!!!  Remember that even the names of the types of Christ signify that those people typify Christ.  For instance, almost half of the twenty-one people I mention in Part Two who typify Christ have their names begin with “J,” four of them have the same name as Jesus in Hebrew (“Joshua”), Saul of Israel has the same name as Saul/Paul whom he symbolizes, and Jonathan the best friend of David has a very similar name to John the best friend of Jesus.  Similarly, I propose that God had the name “Socrates” given to Socrates to suggest his similarity to Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived besides Jesus, according to God in 1 Kings 3!

Shortly before his death, Caesar was given the title dictator perpetuo,17 which is Latin for “perpetual dictator” or “dictator for eternity,” of Rome, the capital of the Roman Empire. [Hitler, another type of the Anti-Christ, is perhaps the most famous "dictator."]  Truly was it said about Jesus that “He will reign on the throne of David and over His kingdom, to establish and sustain it with righteousness, from now on and FOREVER” (Isaiah 9:6-7) in the New Jerusalem, which will become the new capital of the world! (Revelation 21)

Also, as Julius Caesar was part of the “First Triumvirate” along with Crassus and Pompey the Great which had “overwhelming power in the Roman state,”18 so is Jesus Christ part of the Trinity along with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit which has and will have overwhelming power in the New Jerusalem!

7) Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianius (Octavian): the first Roman Emperor

“The Senate honored Octavian with the name Augustus (meaning grand or majestic).  He became the first emperor of Rome, although his many powers and offices were traditional republican ones.  During his long reign (27 B.C.-A.D. 14), the army was reorganized, a permanent navy created, the empire expanded, and a 200-year era of peace, the Pax Romana (Roman Peace), begun.  Most of Rome was rebuilt and a professional civil service was formed to supervise the collection of taxes, public works, food and water supply, and the minting of coins.  Literature flourished, including the works of such poets as Virgil and Horace.”

Augustus was said to have been born of a virgin impregnated by a snake, as was claimed of Alexander the Great & Scipio Africanus who defeated the great Hannibal, other types of Christ! And Christ is represent by the "serpent in the wilderness" raised up on a standard which heals people if they look to it! (see Part Two) "When Atia had come in the middle of the night to the solemn service of Apollo, she had her litter set down in the temple and fell asleep, while the rest of the matrons also slept. On a sudden a serpent glided up to her and shortly went away. When she awoke, she purified herself, as if after the embraces of her husband, and at once there appeared on her body a mark in colors like a serpent, and she could never get rid of it; so that presently she ceased ever to go to the public baths. In the tenth month after that Augustus was born and was therefore regarded as the son of Apollo."
[Suetonius, Life of the Deified Augustus, Chapter 94] Truly was Jesus born of a virgin, and thus was the son of man & son of God!

The biographer Suetonius describes Augustus' outward appearance as follows: "He was unusually handsome ... He had clear, bright eyes ... His teeth were wide apart, small, and ill-kept; his hair was slightly curly and inclining to golden. [Truly was it said of the Messiah King Jesus that He is “fairer than the sons of men.” (Psalm 45:1-2)]

On March 6, 12 BC, after the death of Lepidus, he additionally took up the position of pontifex maximus, the high priest of the collegium of the Pontifices, the most important position in Roman religion.[140][141] On February 5, 2 BC, Augustus was also given the title pater patriae, or "father of the country". [Truly is Jesus the High Priest who paid for our sins by His sacrifice of Himself and who intercedes for us (Cf. Paul’s Letter to the Hebrews) and the “Everlasting Father” of all human beings! (Isaiah 9:6)]

Both Augustus and Jesus rule a wide-spread empire which brings peace to the people included in it.  Augustus ruled in Rome for FORTY years in all likelihood to show that Jesus the true “son of God” walked the Earth for FORTY days after He was resurrected and at that time ruled his followers in Jerusalem! (Acts 1) Augustus was called the “son of God” because Julius Caesar was considered a god and he was Julius’s adopted son.  Furthermore, Augustus and Jesus were both considered and worshipped as gods themselves!  As Julius bequeathed all his possessions to his “son” Augustus, so does God the Father bequeath all to Jesus God the Son!  And Augustus lived while Jesus lived!  Augustus was part of a Triumvirate that ruled Rome just as Julius Caesar was and just as Jesus Christ is part of the Trinity that rules the New Jerusalem!  The Second TRIUMVIRATE was made up of Mark Antony, Marcus Lepidus, and Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus (Octavian), Caesar’s nephew and adopted son.  In 31 B.C., Octavian won in his struggle for power against Antony and the Egyptian queen Cleopatra, as Jesus whom he symbolizes is 1 of 3 Divine Persons!  GOD HAS HIS NAME CONTAIN JULIUS CAESAR’S NAME TO SHOW THAT JESUS WAS RESURRECTED AND WILL RULE AN EMPIRE LIKE OCTAVIAN’S!!!  The history of the human race is divided into the time B.C. and the time A.D. in order to tell us that the Roman Empire under Octavian is symbolic of the time when the old Earth will be replaced by a new Earth, on which Jesus will reign!  A.D. is an abbreviation for Anno Domini: “the year of the Lord”!  The end of the old Earth and beginning of the New Earth is frequently referred to as the “Day of the Lord,” and the “day” is not a literal day but rather simply a period of time!

“And I saw a new heaven and a new Earth; for the first heaven and the first Earth passed away, and the sea is no longer.  And I John saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  And I heard a great voice out the Heaven, saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He shall tabernacle with them, and they shall be His peoples, and God Himself shall be with them their God.  And God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no longer, nor mourning, nor crying, nor distress any longer, because the former things are passed away.  And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” (Revelation21:1-5)

“For the majority of people, life was peaceful and prosperous in the empire of the first two centuries A.D.  The good emperors and wealthy individuals supported benefits and education for the poor, and women gradually gained more legal rights.”  In the New Jerusalem, everyone will be educated about God!  

“From a small settlement in central Italy, ancient Rome grew into a great city and the heart of one of the largest and most long-lasting empires in history.  At its height, the Roman Empire stretched from western Asia to Britain and Spain, and from the Danube River in central Europe to the edge of the Sahara desert in North Africa.  The empire in the West lasted for some 500 years.” So will the New Jerusalem be the headquarters of a wide-ranging empire, as was also true of Athens!

“They [the Romans] brought peace, an advanced culture, and the rule of law to the conquered lands.  The many different peoples in the far-flung empire were united by common citizenship.  They enjoyed free trade and travel over good roads and safe waterways, a high level of public services (including libraries and museums), and a uniform law code, government, and system of money.” Compare with the following:

“After these things I saw, and behold, a great crowd, which no one was able to number, out of every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; and crying with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation to Him who sits on the throne of our God, and to the Lamb [Jesus]!’…These are they who come out of the Great Tribulation, and they washed their robes, and their robes white by the blood of the Lamb.  Because of this are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne shall tabernacle over them.” (Revelation7:9-10,14-15)

“But we know that everything works for the good of those who love God, who are called according to His purposes.  Because whom He foreknew, He PREDESTINED TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, so that the Son would be the firstborn among many brothers.  But whom he predestined, these also He called; and whom He called, these also He justified; and whom He justified, these also He glorified.” (Romans8:28-30)

As the Roman Empire was composed of many different peoples united by a common citizenship, so is Jesus’ Empire composed of many different peoples united by the fact that they were washed by Jesus’ blood because of their faith in Him!  As the Roman Empire had a uniform law code and government, so does Jesus’ Empire, for all the people of it follow His Law!  For, all these people whom God glorifies in Paradise are PREDESTINED TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, who perfectly follows His Father’s Law! (Rom. 5:18-19)

-ROMAN EMPERORS #3-5: TIBERIUS, CALIGULA, CLAUDIUS

Caligula, too, recalls the Abomination of Desolation, when, at the apocalypse, the Antichrist will be enthroned in the Temple. When, in 40 AD, it was reported that Jews had demolished a statue of Caligula erected in his honor, he ordered that his image, "a colossal statue gilt all over" (Philo, 203)), be placed in the Temple, itself,

Claudius was deified by Nero and the Senate almost immediately. Suet. Nero 9
ancient historians described Claudius as bloodthirsty and cruel, overly fond of both gladiatorial combat and executions, and very quick to angerSuet. Claud. 34, 38. Tacitus Ann. XII 20.

Christians martyred by Nero= FORESHADOWING OF GREAT TRIBULATION: "They were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with...the wild animals of earth." (Revelation 6:8)

-NERO CAESAR, ROMAN EMPEROR #6

-related to the other Caesars, all of whom are types of the Anti-Christ
-like the other Caesars & the Anti-Christ, has power over people in many places throughout the Earth
-said to be resurrected: After Nero's suicide in AD 68, there was a widespread belief, especially in the eastern provinces, that he was not dead and somehow would return (Suetonius, LVII; Tacitus, Histories II.8; Dio, LXVI.19.3). Suetonius (XL) relates how court astrologers had predicted Nero's fall but that he would have power in the east. And, indeed, at least three false claimants did present themselves as Nero redivivus (resurrected).
-If the Greek spelling of Nero Caesar (Neron Caesar) is transliterated into Hebrew, the numerical equivalent is 666, the number of the Anti-Christ. (Revelation 13:18)
-As Hitler a type of the Anti-Christ persecuted God's former people the Jews especially for 3.5 years from December 1941-June 1945 (as is predicted in Revelation 12 will happen to Jews on the Earth during the Great Tribulation), and Roman Emperor Titus a type of the Anti-Christ for 3.5 years during the siege of Jerusalem from AD 67-70 culminating in the destruction of the Temple, so did Nero persecute Christians especially during the 3.5 years from mid-November 64-June 68. -"It is interesting, from a historical perspective, that Nero was actually referred to as a “beast” [as is the Anti-Christ in Revelation 13] by his contemporaries. For instance, the pagan writer Apollinius of Tyana, who lived at the time of Nero, states: “In my travels, which have been wider than ever man yet accomplished, I have seen many wild beasts of Arabia and India; but this beast, that is commonly called a Tyrant, I know not how many heads it has, nor if it be crooked of claw, and armed with horrible fangs.... -his cruelty, like Hitler's, far exceeds the cruelty the majority of humans have exhibited: "Nero ruthlessly murdered his parents, his brother, his pregnant wife (whom he kicked to death) and other family members. He was a homosexual, who found sexual gratification in watching torture. He enjoyed dressing up as a wild beast and raping male and female prisoners.
